Daily Good Blessing 2013.1.31 "Though the light of a life may grow dim, the flame of that life burns bright with the memories we hold within." KLGMc
I have a friend who's father is dying of cancer. Since I found out, my mind has been filled with thoughts of my own Father and his succumbing to cancer over seven years ago.
During his last moments on earth, I watched the light, that was always my Dad, grow dimmer and dimmer until it flickered and went out. Yet in the years since my Father passed from this life onto the next, I have felt his light burning brightly within me.
I know that the flame of life, that was my Dad, hasn't gone out. With my friends announcement my mind has been flooded with fond memories of who my Dad was, and that is exactly who he still is. Although I miss him terribly, I know that he now dwells in the life hereafter where one day, I will be able to throw my arms around him once again.
My friend is going through one of the roughest times of life. Yet the great hope of God's Great Plan of Happiness for His Children, is the knowledge that when the flame of life slowly dims and appears to go out,
it still burns bright.
Until that day I have the memories I cherish of my Dad, to keep his flame burning bright within me.

Daily Good Blessing 2013.1.27 "Youth isn't wasted on the young. It's planted there to remind the rest of us how to Laugh Purely and Love Unconditionally." KLGMc
Yesterday Craig and I had the privilege of beginning our "Shift Leader" volunteer position at the MTC.
(Missionary Training Center for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.) It was an amazing experience. We have been through some training for the work we will be doing at the TRC, (Training Resource Center) but not with our own shift and language. (Or in our case, languages.) We will be responsible for coordinating training between volunteers who speak one of 13 different Asian languages and the missionaries who will be going to the respective countries where those languages will be spoken.
As I pondered today's Daily Good Blessing, I couldn't help but think of all those young people I'd been with yesterday. The gospel light in their eyes was unmistakable. It reminded me of the Jewish official who was concerned about the Church having the 'Jerusalem Center' in Jerusalem because of the potential of missionary work being done there. To the response that those studying at the center were not allowed to spread the gospel in Jerusalem, the official queried, "But how are you going to turn the light in their eyes out?'

2013.1.9 Daily Good Blessing. "Each life creates it's own unique symphony while adding one note at a time by quietly sharing simple acts of service, building treasures of truth, speaking soothing words of love and managing the mundane. Over a lifetime this exquisite masterpiece is created layer upon layer, step by step, note by precious note. Listen To The Greatness That Is You." Kathie L Gakle McArthur

2013.1.7 Daily Good Blessing. "There are moral absolutes. Heavenly Father gave laws to protect us from the destroyer. When we choose to break those laws, we not only subject ourselves to satan's power, we choose to suffer the consequences associated with the breaking of those laws." Kathie L Gakle McArthur
