Yesterday Craig and I had the privilege of beginning our "Shift Leader" volunteer position at the MTC.
(Missionary Training Center for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.) It was an amazing experience. We have been through some training for the work we will be doing at the TRC, (Training Resource Center) but not with our own shift and language. (Or in our case, languages.) We will be responsible for coordinating training between volunteers who speak one of 13 different Asian languages and the missionaries who will be going to the respective countries where those languages will be spoken.
As I pondered today's Daily Good Blessing, I couldn't help but think of all those young people I'd been with yesterday. The gospel light in their eyes was unmistakable. It reminded me of the Jewish official who was concerned about the Church having the 'Jerusalem Center' in Jerusalem because of the potential of missionary work being done there. To the response that those studying at the center were not allowed to spread the gospel in Jerusalem, the official queried, "But how are you going to turn the light in their eyes out?'
